BEING V-HAND, or how to dress an idea (second part)
We tell you in this second post related to the BEING V-MANO project how we went from the idea to the actual realization.
The concept we wanted to express (read the first part here on the blog) began to take shape in two dresses, aesthetically and symbolically opposite each other.
The first dress, dark, rigorous and severe, deliberately shapeless, does not highlight the female figure, rather on the contrary, it almost mortifies it, in a sort of dark CAGE.
The second dress, the onther way aroung, is clear, luminous, luxuriant with leaves and flowers, it is LIFE. It is the dreamed dress, the exceptional and fairytale one, the visionary one that dresses with true beauty, the one that emanates from within like a lifeblood.
The technical-tailoring part was handled by Gloria De Martin (atelier Emozioni) who with maniacal perfection created the two dresses, doubled and lined, reversible, in silk shantung.
A hand-painted appliqué by Alida Liberale, a painter on fabric, was sewn onto the dark dress.
The drawing represents the decomposition of the image of a little girl into three parts: the head and feet are always the same while the central part, that of the dress, changes. This is to underline how, in the judgment, it is the dress that makes the person, but also, on the contrary, that despite the dress, everyone can and must remain himself.
On the light-colored dress, a tribute to our Angels who often wear it, we have added a silk organza overskirt, to give the idea of a blooming flower.
And then, around the two dresses, we began to visually build the installation that we will present to you finished in the third part of this story.
